Ney Melo is an internationally renowned Argentine Tango teacher known for his innovative teaching methods and passion for teaching. His tango instruction is sought out by beginning and advanced dancers, as well as other teachers and choreographers from all over the world.
In his pre-tango life, Ney worked for a Wall Street investment bank but, after September 11th, 2001, he left his career to pursue his tango dream in Buenos Aires. His story has been featured on Yahoo! News (Sep 2011), NY Times (Sep 2011), and many other news publications.
Since 2002, Ney has travelled the world and taught Argentine Tango in such countries as Iceland, Australia, Finland, Germany, Singapore, Malaysia and Italy.
After years of touring in and teaching Musical Theatre, Kelly walked into her first Tango class. She was hooked and began her professional training immediately, coming to train with some of the world’s top names in Tango. In turn, she has taught dance professionals and choreographers from around the world. As the dedicated beginner's class teacher at Astoria Tango Club, and as a member of Steps on Broadway's faculty, she has had the pleasure of introducing many New York tango aficionados to their first Tango steps.
A 3-time finalist in the Official US Tango Championship, Kelly won second place in the US in Tango de Pista in 2016. Based in NY, she can be found teaching, performing, and choreographing in venues throughout the area.
